INSTALLATION INFORMATION
What an S2 Tech installation involves — explained honestly.
No surprises, no jargon. Here is exactly what happens between your first enquiry and a signed-off, working security system.
Request Security AssessmentGetting your site ready
Most installations run smoothly because of what is confirmed beforehand.
Before we quote
- A site assessment confirms what needs protecting and what already exists
- Existing systems are inspected for condition and compatibility
- Access requirements, working hours and site rules are discussed upfront
During installation
- Work areas are kept tidy and secured at the end of each day
- Cabling runs are planned with you before any drilling starts
- Devices are positioned for coverage first, aesthetics second — both matter
Power & network readiness
- Reliable power at installation points is confirmed during assessment
- Network connectivity for connected devices is verified on site
- Backup power options are discussed where outages would blind the system
From enquiry to handover
Timelines depend on scope — these are the stages every project passes through.
- 1. Assessment
Scheduled at your convenience; findings documented before anything is proposed.
- 2. Quotation
Scoped from the assessment findings — no generic package pricing.
- 3. Installation
Duration depends on scope confirmed in the quotation; agreed with you before work starts.
- 4. Handover
No install is complete until every function has been demonstrated and tested with you.
What you get at handover
An installation is finished when you understand it — not just when the tools are packed.
- Walkthrough of every installed device and how to use it
- Test of each detection zone, camera view and access rule
- Documentation of what was installed and where
- Explanation of arming schedules and user procedures where applicable
- Clear next step for maintenance or monitoring if chosen
After the installation
Systems stay reliable through maintenance, not luck. Battery replacements, firmware updates, lens cleaning and zone testing keep protection real. Maintenance arrangements are scoped per site — ask about them during your quotation discussion.
Common questions
How long will my installation take?
It depends entirely on scope — a single-door access control install and a full estate perimeter are different projects. Your quotation includes an agreed timeline before work begins.
Do I need to be home during the installation?
Not necessarily, but we recommend being available at start and handover so placement decisions and the final walkthrough happen with you.
Will installation damage my walls or paving?
Cable routes and mounting points are planned with you first. Where surface work is unavoidable it is done neatly and pointed out at handover.
Can you install equipment I bought elsewhere?
We assess existing and third-party equipment for condition and compatibility before agreeing to work on it — the inspection-first approach protects both sides.
